The service

Gioy adds gifting to your Shopify store: a gift button and bubble, gift pages for the people who receive them, emails, wishlists and gift ideas. It runs inside Shopify and uses your store’s own checkout and gift cards.

Plans, trial and billing

Gioy is paid by subscription (Starter or Pro, monthly or yearly), billed in US dollars by Shopify on your Shopify invoice, together with any taxes Shopify applies.

Each store gets one 3-day free trial, once. Uninstalling and installing again does not give a new trial.

Launch offer: the first 50 stores that choose a monthly plan get 20% off their first 3 months. Shopify then charges the full price automatically. It does not apply to yearly plans and is not combined with other offers.

You can change or cancel your plan at any time in Gioy › Plan or by uninstalling Gioy. Shopify handles any credit for the unused part of a period under its billing rules. Without an active plan, new gifts cannot be started; gifts already paid are always delivered and can always be used.

Gift cards and your customers

Gift cards are created in your store, by Shopify, on your behalf, only after the payment has been verified. You are the seller: the money goes to you, and you are responsible for the gift card terms, taxes, invoices, returns and consumer rights in your markets.

Gioy never holds or moves your money and never refunds anything automatically. Refunds, cancellations and chargebacks are handled by you in Shopify; Gioy switches off the affected gift card and shows you what needs your attention.

Your responsibilities

Use Gioy lawfully, keep your product information and policies accurate, tell your customers in your privacy notice that you use Gioy, and do not use Gioy for spam, fraud or illegal products.

Keep your Shopify account secure. You are responsible for what is done with your Gioy admin.

Personal data

For your customers’ data, you are the controller and Gioy is your processor. We process it only to provide Gioy, following your settings, as described in our Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms as our data processing terms.

Availability

We work to keep Gioy fast and available, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may change or improve features; we tell you in advance about changes that reduce what your plan includes.

Liability

As far as the law allows, Gioy is provided as it is, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending

You can stop at any time by uninstalling Gioy. We may suspend or end the service for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, with notice where possible. After uninstalling, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We tell you at least 30 days before important changes take effect; continuing to use Gioy after that means you accept them.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Disputes go to the competent courts in Brașov, Romania, unless the law requires otherwise.
